Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Long-Term Role

We are working with a friendly and supportive primary school in Colchester that is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team on a long-term basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an LSA who is passionate about supporting children’s learning, wellbeing, and development, and who is looking to become a valued member of a school community.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups, including children with SEN

  • Assisting the class teacher with daily classroom activities

  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

  • Supporting behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as an LSA or Teaching Assistant in a school setting

  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs is desirable

  • Calm, patient, and caring approach

  • Reliable, professional, and committed to a long-term role

Safeguarding & Compliance

All candidates must have:

  • Two professional references

  • Enhanced DBS (sighted or on the Update Service)

  • Right to Work in the UK
