Teaching Assistant – Behaviour & SEMH

We are currently recruiting Behaviour and SEMH Teaching Assistants to work through our agency in a range of primary schools across Harlow.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour, helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis

  • Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH, ADHD, ASD, and emotional regulation needs

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

  • Creating a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with SEMH or behavioural needs (school, care, youth work, or similar)

  • Calm, resilient, and patient approach

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to follow behaviour support plans and school policies

  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
