About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant to join a caring, forward-thinking SEND setting in North Tyneside. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that supports pupils with diverse needs, helping them achieve their academic, social, and emotional goals in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Work with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated activities

Provide tailored support for pupils with communication or sensory needs

Encourage independence and wellbeing through positive reinforcement and structured routines

Assist with personal care and mobility, ensuring a safe, inclusive environment

Track progress and contribute to pupil support plans
Person Specification
-
Experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs preferred
-
Calm, compassionate, and flexible approach
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-
Proactive, reliable, and committed to pupil success

DBS clearance or willingness to obtain required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
