About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant to join a caring, forward-thinking SEND setting in North Tyneside. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that supports pupils with diverse needs, helping them achieve their academic, social, and emotional goals in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated activities

  • Provide tailored support for pupils with communication or sensory needs

  • Encourage independence and wellbeing through positive reinforcement and structured routines

  • Assist with personal care and mobility, ensuring a safe, inclusive environment

  • Track progress and contribute to pupil support plans

Person Specification

  • Experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs preferred

  • Calm, compassionate, and flexible approach

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proactive, reliable, and committed to pupil success

  • DBS clearance or willingness to obtain required
