Learning Support Assistant - Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education are recruiting for enthusiastic learning support assistants to work in secondary schools in Sunderland.

The role will involve working in classrooms across the curriculum. You will support children in KS3-KS4 (11-16 years old). You will work under the direction of class teachers to help children with a range of Special educational needs.
It is essential that you have experience of working with children in an educational setting. It is desirable that you have knowledge and/or experience of working with children.

You will have excellent literacy, numeracy and IT skills and be able to complete tasks to a high and professional standards with an ability to work independently.

To be considered for the secondary learning support assistant position, you will have experience of working as a learning support assistant or a similar role in a secondary school environment. We are also happy to consider application for proactive graduate with an ambition to teach.

Successful candidates will

• Have a patient and understanding approach
• Confident in working with children who may at times display challenging behaviour
• Be flexible and dynamic in your approach to work - no 2 days are ever the same when you work in education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
