Learning Support Assistants – Southwark

You’re the calm in the chaos. The extra pair of eyes, ears, and steady hands that help every child feel seen, safe, and supported.

We’re looking for compassionate, proactive Learning Support Assistants to work across a network of Southwark primary and SEND schools—people who know the difference a kind word or gentle prompt can make in a pupil’s day.

Whether you're experienced in the classroom or bring transferable skills from care, youth work or childcare, we'd love to hear from you.

The role:

  • Supporting individual pupils or small groups with their learning

  • Helping children regulate emotions and engage positively with routines

  • Collaborating closely with class teachers and SENCOs

  • Creating a safe, structured space for every learner to thrive

What you’ll need:

  • School, childcare or relevant support experience

  • A calm, patient, and positive attitude

  • Availability 5 days a week

  • Confidence supporting learners across EYFS–KS2

  • Any SEND knowledge is a big bonus

What we offer:

  • Weekly PAYE pay (goodbye umbrella fees!)

  • FREE CPD including behaviour, phonics, and Thrive training

  • A local consultant who listens and finds the right fit

  • Long-term and daily roles, mainstream and SEND settings

  • A pathway into teaching, therapy, or pastoral roles if that’s your goal

We work with schools across Southwark who value their LSAs—and know that behind every great teacher is an even greater support team.

Apply now and let’s find a role where your quiet impact makes all the difference.
