Wanted: Learning Support Assistant with PECS training

Primary School is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work with a nonverbal child on a one-to-one basis. This would be a classroom-based role whereby you would be supporting the pupil.

A knowledge of PECS and other visual support aids would be ideal.

The school are looking for a resilient and determined candidate who can work with the primary teacher, SENCo and other staff to ensure the child is making good progress.

The role:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Long term opportunity with job security

  • Working one to one with a child with Special Needs

The candidate:

  • Have fantastic interpersonal and communication skills
  • English and first language
  • Be calm and consistent in their approach
  • Ideally have PECS, Makaton and Visual Aid training
  • Be supportive and encouraging to all pupils
