Protocol Education are currently recruiting a Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision at a school in Harlow, supporting students from across West Essex.

This setting works with young people who have been permanently excluded from, or require additional support beyond, mainstream education. Many students arrive with multiple vulnerabilities, including social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), behavioural challenges, and often undiagnosed additional learning needs. Some pupils may also have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or be in the process of assessment.

The school provides a supportive, structured environment where students are given the opportunity to rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and develop positive relationships. Staff work closely together to inspire, motivate, challenge, and support each learner as an individual, helping them to move forward positively.

A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach is essential, along with the ability to build trusting relationships with young people. While previous experience is welcomed, it is not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
