Protocol Education are recruiting Learning Support Assistants / Teaching Assistants to join a specialist residential school in Chigwell.

About the School & Role

You will be supporting pupils with a range of needs including MLD, ASD, and SEMH. Pupils attend the school from Monday to Friday, staying on site during the week. Classes are small (up to 10 pupils) with at least one Teacher and one HLTA in each classroom, creating a supportive and structured learning environment.

You will help pupils access learning, support their emotional wellbeing, and build positive, trusting relationships. No prior school experience is required — a caring, patient, and positive approach is key.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND and SEMH

  • Can build strong relationships and work well within a team

  • Is flexible, patient, and proactive

Certificates in Manual Handling, Hoist, First Aid or Care are desirable but not essential.

Hours & Benefits

  • Long-term, full-time and permanent

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
