Protocol Education are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join an Outstanding Specialist School in Chelmsford.
This provision is for pupils with moderate learning difficulties. Students have a range of different needs, which may include difficulties with communication, social or physical skills and, because of this, they often need a little extra help to manage everyday activities.
Prior experience of working in education isn't necessary - our most important requirement is for someone with an open-minded, 'can-do' attitude, who is willing to learn in the role.
Job Duties:
- Provide support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities in a specialist school setting
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and individual education plans
- Help students with personal care and mobility needs, as required
- Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and well-being
- Collaborate with other professionals, parents, and caregivers to support student development
Desired Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Experience working with individuals with learning difficulties or disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of different learning styles and strategies
- Ability to adapt learning materials to meet individual student needs
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and policies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
