We’re looking for caring, reliable people to work as Learning Support Assistants in secondary schools across Newcastle. You’ll be supporting students who need a little extra help in class — building confidence, encouraging progress, and making every day count.
Whether you’ve worked in education before or are looking to start a new career supporting young people, we’ll provide all the guidance and training you need.
What you’ll do:

Support pupils with their learning in class and small groups

Help students with additional needs to access lessons

Build positive, trusting relationships with young people

Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support learning plans
You’ll need:

A calm, patient approach and good communication skills

A genuine interest in supporting young people
-
Reliability, flexibility, and a team-focused attitude
-
Experience in schools, youth work, or care is helpful but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
