Learning Support Assistant – North Newcastle

£90–£110 per day | Full-time | Ongoing role

We’re looking for a caring and confident Learning Support Assistant to join a large, welcoming secondary school in North Newcastle. You’ll be part of a supportive team who believe every student deserves the chance to shine — and you’ll play a key role in making that happen.

The Role

You’ll support students with a range of additional needs, helping them stay engaged, confident, and ready to learn. Whether it’s one-to-one support or small group work, your calm presence and positive attitude will make all the difference.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 in class and during interventions

  • Helping learners build confidence, independence, and social skills

  • Working closely with teachers and the SEN team to deliver tailored support

  • Encouraging a positive and inclusive classroom environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting young people (in schools, youth work, or similar)

  • A patient, proactive, and compassionate approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • (Bonus) Experience with SEND, SEMH, or autism support
