We’re on the lookout for a caring, committed Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Ashington. This is a brilliant opportunity if you love supporting students who need an extra boost with their learning and confidence.

In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive team, helping pupils with special educational needs or those who just need a bit of extra help to engage with lessons and reach their potential.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support in the classroom

  • Helping students with a range of learning needs to stay focused and engaged

  • Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to adapt activities and resources

  • Encouraging independence and building confidence

What we’re looking for:

  • A patient and empathetic approach – you’ll be someone pupils can rely on

  • Experience supporting children or young people (school-based or otherwise)

  • An understanding of SEN or a willingness to learn

  • Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
