Protocol Education is currently recruiting for a passionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a high-achieving, OFSTED rated 'Outstanding' secondary school in Harrow. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive Inclusion Team starting in January 2026.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be the bridge between teaching and learning for students who need extra support. You will work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive in a mainstream setting.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups with literacy, numeracy, and social skills.

  • Helping students with ASD, ADHD, or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs stay focused and engaged.

  • Adapting learning materials to make lessons accessible.

  • Acting as a positive role model and mentor to build students' confidence and independence.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is proactive, empathetic, and ready to hit the ground running in January 2026.

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people (e.g., youth work, tutoring, sports coaching, or care) is highly desirable.

  • Qualifications: A degree or a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is a plus, but not essential if you have the right attitude.

  • Skills: Strong command of English (written and spoken) and Maths.

  • Personality: Resilience, patience, and a genuine passion for inclusive education.
