Learning Support Assistant – Gateshead

What the role involves
You’ll work with pupils who need a little extra guidance, offering one-to-one and small-group support to help them access lessons and build key skills. You’ll be part of a friendly, dedicated team who value consistency, positivity and a nurturing approach.

Key parts of your day as a Learning Support Assistant
- Supporting pupils with their classwork and routines
- Helping children stay focused and engaged throughout the lesson
- Encouraging positive behaviour and clear expectations
- Working closely with teachers and other support staff
- Creating a calm, reassuring presence in the classroom
- Assisting pupils with SEND where needed
You’ll be a great fit as a Learning Support Assistant if you have
- Experience supporting children or young people
- A patient, caring manner
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Confidence helping pupils with a variety of needs
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
