The successful applicant will:

  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have a calm and consistent approach and understand how to respond to challenging behaviours
  • Hold a university degree 
  • Be able to work Monday-Friday (term time)
  • Have experience and/or knowledge of working with children with SEND (not essential)

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Providing targeted help and support
  • Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour
  • Reading with pupils, listening to them read and telling them stories
  • Motivating your pupils to achieve above and beyond their potential
  • Encourage and build communication skills on a one-to-one basis
  • Supervising group activities  
  • Help children with physical and hygiene tasks
  • Liaising with classroom teachers about how best to support pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
