Protocol Education are currently looking for passionate and confident Learning Support Assistants (LSA) who can work 1:1 with children with Special Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will be working in a Secondary School across the Newcastle upon Tyne (UK), Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside and Sunderland area. This is a great opportunity for anyone seeking experience to progress in a career in Teaching.

You must be available to work Monday- Friday term-time only). We have roles beginning immediately (pending clearance) until at least July 2023. Experience is not required for this role.

You will provide 1:1 or group support to a range of children, some SEND and challenging behaviours. Since the pandemic, the rates of children with SEND needs has significantly increased, this resulting in an increased demand for LSA's. Whether you have a degree in Psychology, Art, Education or something unrelated, we have a number of positions available to help you develop your experience whist getting paid in a rewarding setting. 


  • Hold a University Degree 
  • Have a passion for teaching children
  • Be able to work Monday-Friday (term time)
  • Be able to support children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Hold an enhanced DBS/ be willing to obtain one
