Protocol Education are recruiting for aspiring Educational Psychologists to work in schools across Tyne and Wear. If you want to gain experience working with children with, SEND and SEMH then we want to here from you.

You will be working to provide support for children with special educational needs (aged between 11-16) .  You will assist children in their learning and day to day routines to enable them to access a mainstream curriculum. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of SEND including ASC and SEMH.  

No previous experience is required as you will be provided with on-the-job training and CPD to assist in the role. Accredited qualifications will also be available via Protocol Education.

 Working as a learning support assistant is a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to progress into a career in Educational Psychology. Protocol Education can supply you with paid experience working with children.

Roles available are full time (term time only), to begin immediately or in January 2022. If successful you will be likely required until the end of the academic year (July 2023). A number of our schools are hoping to offer  permanent contracts after this point.

Work will be available in schools across Newcastle and North Tyneside. As part of our service, you will be allocated a dedicated consultant who will work to place you in an area of your choosing.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have a calm and consistent approach and understand how to respond to challenging behaviours
  • Hold a university degree 
  • Be able to work Monday-Friday (term time)
  • Have experience or a keen interest in working with children.
  • Be educated to degree level (all subjects will be considered)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
