 Learning Support Assistant – Newham (Mainstream School with SEND Unit)

Pay: £90–£110 per day (PAYE - NO umbrella companies)

We’re supporting a welcoming mainstream primary school in Newham with a dedicated SEND unit, and they’re looking for a warm, patient and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join their team. You’ll be working with pupils aged 3–11 with mild needs, making a real impact on their day-to-day school experience.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs (academic, social, emotional or behavioural)
  • Working closely with teachers and SEND staff to deliver engaging, accessible learning
  • Helping children stay focused, confident and happy in class
  • Providing 1:1 or small-group support where needed
  • Building trusting, positive relationships with pupils, helping them feel safe and understood

What we’re looking for

  • Experience supporting children or young people (school, nursery, youth work, SEN, tutoring or care settings)
  • A calm, nurturing approach and great communication skills
  • Someone reliable, patient and genuinely passionate about helping little learners shine
  • The willingness to learn, grow and be an active part of the school community

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
