Protocol Education is working in partnership with an OFSTED-rated Outstanding secondary school to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their supportive Inclusion Team from January 2026.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a mainstream classroom setting. Working closely with the SENCO and teaching staff, you will help ensure pupils can fully access the curriculum and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support in literacy, numeracy, and social development

  • Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

  • Adapting learning materials to meet individual needs

  • Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement, and independence

  • Acting as a positive role model and mentor to students

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a proactive and compassionate individual who is committed to inclusive education.

  • Experience: Previous experience with children or young people (e.g. youth work, tutoring, coaching, care, or education) is highly desirable

  • Qualifications: A degree or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is beneficial but not essential

  • Skills: Strong communication skills with a good standard of English and Maths

  • Attributes: Patient, resilient, adaptable, and enthusiastic
