Looking for a role where you’re not just “extra support”, but the steady, calm presence that helps a child truly thrive?

At Protocol Education, we don’t just match people to schools. We connect brilliant support staff with settings that genuinely value what they bring. You’ll get weekly PAYE pay, free access to our CPD Academy, and your own dedicated consultant who actually listens. No umbrella faff. No being left in the lurch. Just honest support and roles that make a real difference.

Now, let’s talk about Romford

A welcoming primary school in Romford is looking for a full-time Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil with additional needs. This isn’t a “dip in and out” role. They’re after someone consistent, committed, and ready to build a proper relationship with their pupil, because for children with SEN, familiar faces matter.

You’ll be:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
• Helping your pupil access learning in a way that works for them
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
• Creating a safe, structured, and encouraging environment
• Celebrating the small wins, because they’re often the biggest ones

The school is warm, supportive, and big on teamwork. Staff look out for each other, and they understand that supporting SEN pupils takes patience, empathy, and skill.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience supporting children with SEN, whether in school or care settings
• Brings a calm, steady approach, even on tricky days
• Understands the importance of routine and consistency
• Is happy to commit full-time for continuity and impact
• Builds trust naturally, with pupils and staff alike

If you’ve worked with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH, even better. If you haven’t had school-based experience but have transferable skills, we still want to hear from you.

Why Protocol Education?

• Weekly pay through PAYE
• FREE access to our online CPD Academy
• Personalised support from a dedicated consultant
• Opportunities across mainstream, SEND, and alternative settings
• Streamlined registration and local placements
• Referral scheme, because good people know good people

This role is about more than support. It’s about being the person a child feels safe with. The one who helps them settle, learn, and believe they can do it.

If that sounds like you, let’s talk.
