The role
We are working with a welcoming and inclusive 11–18 secondary school in Northumberland to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils across KS3–KS5. The school prides itself on a supportive environment where students are respectful, engaged and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
You’ll work closely with teaching staff, SEN and pastoral teams to help pupils access learning, build confidence, and flourish both academically and personally.

Key responsibilities

Support pupils with SEN, SEMH, or additional learning needs

Provide targeted support 1:1 and in small groups

Assist teachers with classroom activities to keep pupils engaged

Help students regulate emotions and develop confidence

Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and purposeful learning environment
The ideal candidate

Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work)

Patient, proactive and supportive approach

Strong communication and relationship building skills

Confidence supporting behaviour and engagement in a secondary setting

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
