The role

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive 11–18 secondary school serving pupils from a range of local communities. The school places strong emphasis on pastoral care, inclusivity, and positive relationships, making this an excellent setting for a Learning Support Assistant who wants to make a real impact.

You’ll be supporting students across KS3–KS5, working both 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils to engage with learning, regulate emotions, and build confidence in the classroom.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide classroom-based support alongside teaching staff

  • Deliver targeted interventions for pupils with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs

  • Support behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation

  • Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils

  • Contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment

The ideal candidate

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, etc.)

  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach

  • Confident supporting behaviour and engagement in a secondary setting

  • SEN experience is desirable but not essential

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
