Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive primary school in Ealing. If you have experience working with children with SEND and are committed to making a real difference in their lives, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND, helping them access the curriculum and reach their learning goals.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging students' confidence, independence, and social development.
  • Assist with the management of behavior, using positive reinforcement techniques to support students in developing appropriate social and learning behaviors.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
  • Help with personal care or mobility needs if required, ensuring the well-being and safety of all students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a SEND or inclusive education setting.
  • A strong understanding of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, or physical disabilities.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the varied needs of individual students.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
