Role: LSA (Learning support Assistant)

We are looking for SEND Learning Support Assistants to work in our lovely Primary School in Lewisham, supporting pupils on a one to one basis with their learning in the classroom.

As an SEND Learning Support Assistant you may be working with one child, or more small group of children who have learning difficulties.

The most common roles are: supporting children with Autism, disruptive behaviour, learning delay, speech and language, down syndrome and hearing impaired. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support the pupils in and out of the classroom.

However, the current role is to support a capable child with an EHCP. 

The child is a lovely boy and very capable. He has ASD and ADHD. School needs someone who can build strong relationships.

Duties to include (but not limited to):

o Support with attention and focus during teacher instruction

o Support with initiation of task and task completion

o Encouragement of independent work/learning

o Support with using technology

o Provision of intensive remedial intervention to address gaps in literacy

o Provision of intensive intervention to address gaps in numeracy

o Reduction of distractions in the work environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
