Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Job Type:

This is a contract position, with an expectation to work full-time hours.

Salary:

The salary for this role is £80 - £95 per day.

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
  • Help with personal care needs, if required.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Good communication skills.
  • Patience and empathy when working with students.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

Education:

A minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths are required. A relevant teaching assistant qualification would be advantageous.

Experience:

Prior experience working with students with learning difficulties is desirable but not essential.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support them.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and be flexible in approach.
  • Basic IT skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:

An NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools would be preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • This role involves working within a school setting, supporting students during school hours.
  • May require some physical exertion when assisting students with mobility or personal care needs.
  • The position may involve occasional participation in school events or trips.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
