A special needs school, based in the Quorn/Loughborough area in Leicestershire, require a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged between 5 to 18 years with a variety of special needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), behaviours that challenge including SEMH and Trauma & Attachment. The successful candidate must be resilience, paitent, empathetic, confident and understanding that the children take time to build relationships and will try to push boundaries. 

You will be required to provide general support and to work on a one-to-one basis or in the classroom, following the work set by the main Teacher when required. The lessons include outdoor education, therefore you must be proactive and have a passion for wanting to try to engage the children into all lessons so they can reach their full potential.

Previous experience of working with Special Education Needs pupils is desirable, but not essential. Those wishing to gain experience in this field are more than welcome to apply for the position but need to explain what transferable skills they have to bring to the role. Training can be provided to successful candidates. All applicants must be able to drive and have access to a car at all times. Team Teach & NAPPI training (or similar training) are highly desirable but not essential as training can be provided.

About the Role:
Special Needs Teaching Assistant or HLTA
ASAP – Full time 
Monday to Friday (Term Time)
8.30am – 4.00pm (sometimes 4.30pm - but this is scheduled in advance when required)
£75 - £90 per day

Needs to be able to drive to get to the location in the Quorn area. 

Ideal Candidate:
Previous SEN experience - highly desirable but not essential (please state transferable skills for the role)

Confident & Reliable

Driving - desirable but not essential (if using public transport must be flexiable)

Team Teach & NAPPI trained or experienced - highly desirable but not essential.

TA Qualification L3 - desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
