An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding and inspiring Lead Practitioner in Mathematics to play a central role in driving excellence in teaching and learning across the Maths department and wider school.

This role offers a genuine opportunity to influence curriculum, pedagogy, and classroom practice at scale, supporting colleagues in delivering consistently high-quality Maths education for all learners.


Your New Role

As Lead Practitioner in Mathematics, you will:

  • Model consistently excellent classroom practice in Mathematics.
  • Support the development of a well-sequenced and ambitious Maths curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Coach and support colleagues to strengthen pedagogy and improve student outcomes.
  • Work closely with the Maths leadership team and senior leaders to embed best practice.
  • Contribute to whole-school teaching and learning priorities.

This role does not involve formal line management but carries significant instructional leadership influence across the department and wider school.


What We’re Looking For

  • A passionate and expert Mathematics teacher with a track record of excellent classroom practice.
  • Ability to coach and influence colleagues to raise teaching standards.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment, and pedagogy in Mathematics.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to whole-school improvement initiatives.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
