Key Stage 2 Teacher – Sandyford, Newcastle

We’re working with a Primary School in Newcastle, a welcoming two-form entry school in the heart of Newcastle, known for its close-knit community, vibrant curriculum, and commitment to developing every child’s confidence and curiosity.

The school’s KS2 team is ready to welcome a creative, compassionate teacher to join them this term. If you believe learning should be lively, purposeful, and fun, this could be the perfect match.

What you’ll be doing

  • Teaching a cheerful Year 5 class of 29 pupils who adore science experiments and outdoor learning.

  • Planning engaging lessons that bring the KS2 curriculum to life.

  • Working alongside a supportive Year Group Partner and TA who know their pupils inside out.

  • Contributing to the school’s weekly enrichment afternoons.

  • Building genuine relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues, keeping communication open and positive.

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • A teacher who brings energy, creativity, and calm to the classroom.

  • Confidence in behaviour management and inclusive practice.

  • A collaborative mindset – someone who values teamwork and isn’t afraid to share a cuppa and a laugh in the staffroom.

Bonus points if you:

  • Have experience with mixed-ability classes or SEND provision.

  • Hold (or want to complete) Thrive training – this is a Thrive school and values emotional wellbeing as much as academic success.

Why you’ll love this school

  • ‘Good’ Ofsted rating with praise for its nurturing ethos and pupil behaviour.

  • Forward-thinking SLT who invest in staff CPD and well-being.

  • Spacious outdoor area and dedicated STEM suite – a perfect blend of nature and technology.

  • A school that genuinely values every member of its team.

Why join Protocol Education?

  • Free access to our Educator CPD Academy to keep your teaching fresh.

  • A friendly, local consultant who checks in regularly – not just at payday.

  • Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella faff.

  • Opportunities across mainstream, SEND, and alternative settings if you’re curious about what’s next.
