Love phonics, finger painting, and helping little minds grow? This one’s for you.

We’re looking for a kind, capable, and KS1-savvy Teaching Assistant to support brilliant pupils across friendly primary schools in Lewisham. From helping Year 1s crack their reading to cheering on star writers in Year 2, your role will be all about making learning feel fun and accessible.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the class teacher with learning activities, behaviour, and routines

  • Working 1:1 and in small groups—especially with early readers and writers

  • Helping with phonics (letters and sounds knowledge is a big plus!)

  • Creating a calm, positive classroom where every child can thrive

  • Celebrating the small wins—because in KS1, they’re huge

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working in a primary school or early years setting

  • A warm, patient, and encouraging approach

  • Someone who can get stuck in—from story time to tidy-up time

  • SEN experience is a bonus, but not essential

  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or happy to apply for one)

Why Choose Protocol Education?

  • FREE CPD and training via our online Academy

  • Personal consultant who’s just a WhatsApp away

  • Schools that genuinely value their support staff
