Regardless of experience, we are seeking Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants to be based in schools across Newcastle and Gateshead.
Protocol Education is looking for individuals who wish to begin their careers in education. We have a variety of roles available, to suit everyone’s skill set and level of experience.
We recruit people who have had both personal and professional experience supporting children or vulnerable people. We also find those who have graduated have the necessary skills and knowledge to be successful within a school.
Teaching Assistants are typically based in the classroom and are there to help the children engage in activities along with supporting the teacher with the preparation for the lesson.
Learning Support Assistants are based in small groups or perform 1:1 support for individuals with SEN or SEMH needs. This is a very rewarding role and works best for indivudals with full-time availability due to students requiring consistency.
Requirements:
- The right to work in the UK
- Has or is willing to obtain an enhanced DBS.
- Is an approachable and friendly person
- Is confident and comfortable in a classroom setting.
- Has excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Preferably personal or professional experience interacting with SEN or vulnerable individuals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
