Intervention Tutors – Secondary Students
Teesside & Redcar | Full-Time / Part-Time Opportunities | Flexible Start

We are seeking a committed and proactive Intervention Tutor to support secondary-aged students across schools in Teesside and Redcar. This role focuses on delivering targeted academic and pastoral intervention to help learners close gaps in learning, improve confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.

 

The Role

  • Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions across KS3 and KS4

  • Support students in core subjects (English, Maths, or Science preferred)

  • Identify learning gaps and implement structured intervention programmes

  • Monitor progress and provide clear feedback to teaching staff and pastoral teams

  • Support students with SEND, SEMH needs, or those at risk of disengagement

  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and learning routines

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with secondary-aged students in an education or tutoring capacity

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

  • Confident delivering small group or 1:1 academic support

  • Experience supporting SEND or vulnerable learners is highly desirable

  • Patient, adaptable, and committed to improving student outcomes

 

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification or strong experience in education, tutoring, or youth work

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable due to travel across Teesside/Redcar

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
