Intervention Teaching Assistant

Contract: Full-time, Long-term

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Intervention Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Wakefield on a long-term, full-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

The Role

  • Deliver targeted intervention sessions, both 1:1 and in small groups, to raise attainment in core subjects.

  • Support pupils in developing confidence, resilience, and independent learning skills.

  • Work closely with class teachers and the SEN/EAL teams to identify learning gaps and provide tailored support.

  • Monitor and track pupil progress, feeding back to staff and contributing to intervention planning.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children and young people, ideally in a classroom or intervention setting.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learning.

  • Ability to motivate and inspire pupils to succeed.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., TA qualification or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
