Job Description

Job Duties:

As an Individual Needs Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support students with special educational needs in a classroom setting. This includes providing one-on-one assistance, helping with personal care needs, and implementing individual education plans. You will collaborate closely with teachers and other support staff to create a supportive learning environment for all students.

Required Qualifications:

- A genuine passion for working with individuals with special educational needs

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

- Basic understanding of relevant legislation and policies related to special educational needs

Education:

A minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths is required. Additional qualifications in special educational needs or relevant field are desirable.

Experience:

Prior experience working with individuals with special educational needs is essential.

Knowledge and Skills:

- Understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support students with diverse needs

- Ability to adapt to changing situations and demonstrate flexibility in approach

- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

- Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools

- First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

You will be working in a classroom environment within a school setting. This role may require some physical activity and the ability to provide personal care assistance to students. Hours will be scheduled during school term times.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
