We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Colchester that is seeking a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and experienced HLTA who enjoys taking a proactive role in the classroom and supporting pupils to achieve their best.

The Role

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons and covering classes when required

  • Supporting learning across EYFS, KS1, and/or KS2 (depending on experience)

  • Working with individuals and small groups to raise attainment

  • Supporting pupils with SEN and additional needs

  • Assisting with planning, assessment, and classroom management

  • Working closely with teaching staff and senior leaders

The Ideal Candidate

  • HLTA qualification (Level 4 or above) – essential

  • Previous experience working as an HLTA in a UK primary school

  • Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills

  • Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach

  • Passionate about supporting children’s learning and wellbeing

Safeguarding & Compliance

All candidates must have:

  • Two professional references

  • Enhanced DBS (sighted or on the Update Service)

  • Right to Work in the UK
