Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Career Progression Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive and forward-thinking school in Colchester. This role is ideal for an experienced HLTA who is eager to progress, develop leadership skills, and take the next step in their education career.

You will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with class teachers and senior leaders to deliver high-quality education and targeted interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering planned lessons and covering classes when required
  • Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Leading small group and intervention sessions
  • Supporting and mentoring teaching assistants where appropriate
  • Contributing to planning, assessment, and pupil progress
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and senior leadership

  • Holds HLTA status (or equivalent experience)
  • Has strong classroom management skills
  • Is ambitious and keen to progress within education
  • Demonstrates initiative, professionalism, and a positive attitude
  • Builds strong relationships with pupils and staff
