History Teacher / Teacher of History required in Bexley

Are you a committed and dedicated History Teacher / Teacher of History? Are you currently looking for a new opportunity in an excellent school in South London? 

A Bexley based secondary school is looking for a History Teacher / Teacher of History who can deliver engaging and innovative lessons and demonstrate strong behaviour management skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach KS3 and KS4 students confidently (ability to teach at KS5 would be advantageous). 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging History lessons.

  • Successfully manage the behaviour of the class following the school’s behaviour policy.

  • Foster positive relationships with students by being a role model and ensure students achieve their full potential.

  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Department and the rest of the team to ensure the smooth running of the school day and that students achieve the best outcomes. 

  • Act as an ambassador for Protocol Education by being punctual and professional at all times.

 

You should apply for this role if you:

  • Hold QTS / QTLS/ or equivalent with a History/ Humanities Specialism (Instructors and Unqualified teachers will be considered)

  • Have strong subject knowledge and are confident at delivering History lessons at all levels. 

  • Have a minimum of 6 months’ experience in an educational setting, ideally teaching History or any other Humanities-related subject. 

  • Are an excellent communicator and have a natural ability to work and build positive rapport with young people.

  • Have good knowledge of child protection and safeguarding guidelines (an up-to-date DBS that is registered on the Update Service is desirable but not essential at this stage).

  • Have the ability to work collaboratively as well as taking ownership of your own workload.
