Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging history lessons to SEN students
  • Develop and implement lesson plans in line with Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan
  • Assess and evaluate student progress regularly 
  • Provide support and guidance to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialism in History

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Degree in History or related field
  • Demonstrated experience teaching History at the secondary level
  • Experience working with students with SEN, ASD and SEMH
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education
  • Additional training in special educational needs

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with regular school hours
  • Work primarily within a classroom setting
  • Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership
