The role

A well-established secondary school in Northumberland is seeking a History Teacher to join its Humanities department. The role includes teaching across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 opportunities for experienced candidates.

The school is looking for a teacher who can deliver engaging and structured lessons, develop pupils’ analytical and evaluative skills, and support strong GCSE and A-Level outcomes.

£163 – £265.92 per day | PAYE | Depending on experience

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Prepare pupils effectively for GCSE (and A-Level where applicable)

  • Assess and track pupil progress

  • Contribute to curriculum development and intervention strategies

The ideal candidate

  • QTS (or equivalent)

  • Experience teaching History at secondary level

  • Strong subject knowledge and curriculum understanding

  • Effective classroom management skills
