We’re partnering with a progressive secondary academy in Telford with a simple but powerful mission, to help every pupil enjoy learning, aim high, and feel genuinely valued. Everything the school does is rooted in three shared values, Aspiration, Respect and Excellence, and it’s something you notice straight away.
This role is mainly History, teaching across KS3 and KS4, with the chance to dip into wider Humanities where it makes sense. For the right person, there’s also the opportunity to teach A Level History. The curriculum is thoughtfully sequenced and rich in both British and world history, with a real focus on enquiry, critical thinking, and building strong, evidence-based arguments. There’s no box-ticking here, just purposeful teaching that brings the subject to life.
You’ll be joining a welcoming and collaborative Humanities faculty spanning History, Geography and RE. It’s a team that plans together, shares ideas freely, and genuinely supports one another. Whether you’re an ECT finding your feet or an experienced teacher looking for a school that trusts your judgement, you’ll be backed to do your best work.
One of the academy’s real strengths is its year-based system, which creates a strong sense of belonging and pride. Older pupils step into leadership roles, model positive behaviour, and help run events across the school, all underpinned by those core values of aspiration, respect and excellence.
Beyond the classroom, there’s a wide-ranging extra-curricular offer covering sport, creativity and academic enrichment. Pupils build confidence, friendships and resilience, and staff are encouraged to get involved in ways that feel right for them.
Start dates are flexible, with opportunities from January, April or September 2026. Applications are welcomed from both ECTs and experienced Humanities teachers.
