About the Role

Protocol Education is working in partnership with welcoming and supportive schools to recruit an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This is an excellent opportunity to join a committed team and make a positive impact on pupils’ learning and development.

The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across the school and will be confident in leading lessons and covering classes when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher

  • Support pupils’ learning across the curriculum

  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning

  • Assist with lesson planning, assessment, and feedback

  • Promote positive behaviour and uphold school policies

  • Support pupils with additional needs, including SEND, where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • HLTA status or relevant experience working at HLTA level

  • Experience in a primary/secondary school setting

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • A flexible, professional, and reliable approach

  • A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
