Are you a Teaching Assistant looking for a step up to Higher Level Teaching Assistant?  Or are you already an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a new role to start after the half term break?

We are working with an all girls Secondary School based in Islington who are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join them after the February Half Term Break.

As a HLTA, you will connect directly with the students helping to make sure they get the very best from their education. 

The purpose of the Higher Level Teaching Assistant is to support the Class Teacher with all elements of the day to day running of the class and to teach whole classes, groups and individual lessons in consultation with the Class Teacher on a regular basis across a range of classes.    

Duties:

  • Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school’s policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT.    
  • To lead in the absence of any Class Teachers across the school.    
  • Support the day to day running of classes across the school and take the lead in the absence of a class teacher.    
  • Select and adapt appropriate resources/methods to facilitate agreed learning activities    
  • Reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.    
  • Assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment    
  • Participate in the planning and evaluation of learning activities.    
  • Be a role model for new staff and supervise and guide less experienced TAs.     
  • Respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and undertake duties and tasks to the highest ability in order to achieve the smooth running of the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
