Teaching Assistants with Care backgrounds help to provide educational and personal support.
We are currently looking to recruit a number of Teaching Assistant with Care backgrounds to support students in the Teesside area to access education and help to support in breaking down any barrier they may encounter.
The role of a Teaching assistant with Care background is to provide Educational, pastoral and personal care support to those with special educational needs. You may be required to support students on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. You will assist in class time and may be needed to support during break times as well as before and after school.
The school has a supportive team of Learning Support Staff who work alongside the Key Support Teachers and SENCO within the school.
You will need to:
- Be a qualified Teaching Assistant to Level 2 or willing to undertake CPD to gain this qualification,
- Enjoy working with children and young people
- Ability to work as an active team member, using initiative whilst following directions from other staff members.
- Willingness to work with students who can become frustrated and seek to find solutions
- Good organisational skills
- Good basic literacy skills
- Friendly, warm and professional
- Caring and nurturing nature
- Have a DBS on the update service or happy to apply for one

Due to the nature of the role all educators are required to complete a clearing process before work can commence. This process includes-

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
