The Role

As the Head of Mathematics, you will be the architect of the department’s future:

  • Strategic Leadership: Oversee the delivery of the Mathematics curriculum across KS3, KS4, and KS5.

  • Staff Development: Act as a mentor to ECTs and experienced staff alike, fostering a culture of peer-to-peer coaching.

  • Data-Driven Progress: Monitor student attainment and implement creative intervention strategies to ensure no child is left behind.

  • Enrichment: Lead extracurricular initiatives, from UKMT Maths Challenges to STEM collaborations.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong degree in Mathematics or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Key Stage Coordinator or Second-in-Department looking to step up.

  • A deep understanding of current pedagogical trends and GCSE/A-Level specification changes.

  • The charisma and drive to lead a large team in a fast-paced, high-expectations environment.
