As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside subject teachers to support students within lessons, deliver small-group interventions, and help pupils engage with the secondary curriculum. This role offers hands-on classroom experience within a supportive school environment.
Secondary schools across Sunderland are recruiting a Graduate Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. This Graduate Teaching Assistant role is designed for graduates considering a future career in education or teacher training.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting learning within mainstream secondary classrooms
- Working with small groups and individual pupils
- Assisting teachers with lesson activities and resources
- Supporting student engagement and progress
Requirements:
- A degree in any subject area
- Experience working with young people is preferred but not essential
- An interest in secondary education and classroom practice
This Graduate Teaching Assistant role is ideal preparation for PGCE, SCITT, or School Direct teacher training routes.
