Job Title: Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: North Tyneside
Salary: £85–£100 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Looking for a role that makes a difference—and builds your career at the same time?
We’re looking for a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic SEN school in the North East. This is a brilliant opportunity for graduates who want to build experience working with children and young people with special educational needs. Whether you’re thinking about a career in teaching, psychology, therapy, or youth work, this role is the perfect first step.
Every day, you’ll be supporting pupils who need a little extra help to access learning, build confidence, and develop the skills they’ll need both in school and beyond. No two days are the same—and that’s what makes it rewarding.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Providing one-to-one or small group support for pupils with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties
-
Helping children develop their social, emotional, and learning skills
-
Supporting pupils to engage with lessons, routines, and friendships
-
Working with teachers, therapists, and families to create the best possible learning environment
-
Celebrating every step of progress, however big or small
Who we’re looking for:
We want someone who brings energy, empathy, and patience to everything they do. You’ll need to be calm, adaptable, and ready to get stuck in. Experience in education or care is helpful, but it’s your attitude and ability to build relationships that matter most. If you’re the kind of person who celebrates small wins, listens first, and believes every child deserves the chance to succeed—you’ll fit right in.
