The role

We are working with a large, high-performing secondary school with a strong pastoral and SEN focus to recruit a Graduate Learning Support Assistant. This role is ideal for graduates considering a career in teaching, youth work, or education support.

You’ll work alongside teaching staff and the SEN/pastoral teams to provide 1:1 and small-group academic and pastoral support across KS3–KS5, helping students access the curriculum and build confidence.

Key responsibilities

  • Support pupils in-class and through targeted interventions

  • Assist with academic, social, and emotional development

  • Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence

  • Collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff to monitor progress

  • Gain hands-on experience in a secondary school environment

The ideal candidate

  • Degree in any subject (education, psychology, humanities, or science advantageous)

  • Passion for working with young people

  • Calm, patient, and adaptable

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
