SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH Specialist)
Salary: £90 - £110 per day (PAYE – no umbrella companies)
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Start Date: Immediate, as soon as possible

We’re looking for a calm, caring, and confident SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You’ll be joining a welcoming specialist school where every day brings new challenges, big smiles, and plenty of progress.
If you know how to de-escalate tricky moments, build trust, and help children feel seen and supported, this role’s for you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Helping children manage emotions, focus on learning, and build confidence
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to create calm, consistent routines
- Using trauma-informed and restorative approaches to guide behaviour and wellbeing
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in SEMH, PRU, or specialist settings
- A patient, resilient attitude and genuine care for children’s progress
- A good sense of humour (it helps!) and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Thrive training or willingness to complete it (we offer it for free!)
