Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a full time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a child with additional needs at a friendly, forward-thinking and enthusiastic Primary School in Borehamwood.

This role will suit a candidate who has experience of working with children with SEN. The child requires support with speech and language, movement breaks and social interaction both within the classroom and at playtimes. The school pride themselves on providing a creative curriculum and making learning fun. This will be starting in April 2023 and continuing for the rest of the academic year (until July 2023), with potential to continue in the next academic year.

We are looking for someone who has a range of effective, positive behaviour management skills and who has a calm and reassuring nature. The role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities.

The school is located in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. The area has very good road links to the M25 and the M1 and the school can provide parking. There are also regular trains from London Euston, as well as very easy bus links.

The successful applicant will:

  • Deal with situations calmly and sensitively
  • Maintain a safe and positive environment for all learners
  • Be enthusiastic about pupil's academic and social and emotional needs
  • The ability to effectively support children with differing needs in the classroom.
  • Be able to provide personal, social, welfare, emotional and behavioural support
  • Be confident in liaising with other staff and parents/carers
  • Have high expectations of what all pupils can achieve and are able to motivate and inspire confidence and independence in pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
