About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled French Teacher to deliver engaging, high-quality language lessons to students of varying ages and abilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, fluency in French, and the ability to make language learning enjoyable, immersive, and effective.

This position may involve working in schools, tuition centres, community hubs, online platforms, or private homes depending on student needs and your availability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver dynamic and engaging lessons in French (reading, writing, listening, speaking)

  • Tailor instruction to different age groups: children, teens, or adults

  • Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials aligned with curriculum or learner goals

  • Foster cultural awareness and appreciation of French-speaking countries

  • Assess learner progress and provide regular feedback

  • Encourage student participation and language use in and outside the classroom

  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment

  • Comply with safeguarding and health & safety policies


Requirements & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Fluent/native-level proficiency in French

  • Experience teaching French (school, tutoring, or private lessons)

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

  • Reliable, organised, and adaptable

  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

  • Degree in French, Modern Languages, Education, or equivalent

  • UK-recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, TEFL)

  • Familiarity with UK curriculum (KS2–KS5, GCSE/A-Level/IB)

  • Experience with adult or business French learners

  • Knowledge of online teaching tools (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.)

  • Flexible scheduling: weekday afternoons, evenings, or weekends
