About the Role
We are seeking a Flexible Teaching Assistant to provide adaptable classroom support across a range of primary and secondary settings in Newcastle and North Tyneside. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, can step into different roles with confidence, and thrives in inclusive learning environments.
Key Responsibilities

Provide classroom cover when Teaching Assistants or teachers are absent

Support pupils individually or in small groups, reinforcing learning under teacher direction

Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and behaviour management

Help prepare materials, displays, and learning resources

Encourage positive engagement and monitor pupil progress, feeding back to class teachers
Person Specification

Experience in schools or working with children preferred (not essential)

Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to different classroom environments

Strong communication and organisational skills

Patient, positive, and confident managing varied pupil needs

DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain) and commitment to safeguarding

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
